Rip Strips-and glue together-
Note the extra wide strips for the out side
After panel is glued -trim to 17" square. Then cut again-same pattern of extra wide on the Outside
Next flip every other strip end for end and re-glue.
Next rabbet the top edge leaving 2 inch squares on top with 1/2 rabbet on bottom
The interior frame is mitered with this size:
Pattern should now have 2.5inches on four sides and 2 inches in the middle.
NOTE!!
When installing framed board into playing table make sure the white/maple/light squares are on the players right hand side.
