So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father."
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Crown of Righteousness
2 Timothy 4:8
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
I am working on some new designs for a Display during the Lenten Season at St. Luke in 2014.
A mighty fortress is our God,
A stronghold never failing;
Our helper He amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevaling.
For still our ancient foe
Conspires to work us woe;
His craft and power are great,
And armed with bitter hate,
On earth is not his equal.
That word above all earthly powers,
Is evermore abiding;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours,
Through Jesus with us siding.
Let goods and kindred go,
This mortal life also;
The body they may kill;
God's truth is with us still;
His kingdom is forever.
Did we in our own strength confide,
Our striving would be losing,
Were not the right man on our side,
The man of God’s own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he,
Lord Sabaoth his name,
From age to age the same,
And he must win the battle.
And though this world, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us;
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us.
The prince of darkness grim,
We tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure,
For lo! his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.
During the 2011 Lenten season, I had a series of wall cross designs on display in the Fellowship Hall of University Lutheran Chapel,
Here are details of the new designs.
CELTIC CALL
Today my hope is stronger And the vision's clearer
To walk in love eternal The path that takes me nearer
And to You the music's playing Like it has never done
And to You my feet are dancing Underneath the sun
In You I live
In You I live
A text from the album "Beyond These Shores" by Iona. Released in 1993. Beyond These Shores is largely based on the story of St. Brendan's voyage. Brendan and a company of monks sailed from Ireland in a leather and wood boat in the sixth century to 'the promised land' which many believed to be America.
