Construction of the base is underway.
Harp brackets and base stretchers are roughed out. Feet will be made next and the connecting dowels (loosely held in place in the photos) will be fit into the harp brackets.
Fabrication of the base is nearly complete- Feet and upper supporting "hands" have been added as have the horizontal octagonal stretchers and rosettes. Some of the gilding has started.
Still to go on the base is the brass work-including medallions to be applied to the lower plates and three vertical rods the will run from the horizontal dowels to a brass cross that will be fixed to the cap over the medallions
The base of the case is started with the floor of the outside case have been veneered in Mahogany-
