But to my eye there is something missing in the horizontal line so I offer this suggested revision of Rendering II
This is the second rendering of the idea. The idea you prefer.
I added the circle as you requested and rounded over the top and bottom pieces
The addition of the end pieces on the horizontal cross piece yield (to my eye) a balance and a fairly literal image of a nail. A person can allow this image to develop accordingly. I prefer not to tell someone what to think. My own experience has born out that what I intend to say in my designs are frequently interpreted by others in different fashions-often in ways I would have never thought.
