Legs, Apron,Drawer Fronts and Top made from Sapele. Chessboard-made from Sapele and Bird's eye Maple

Outside Dimensions
37" long, 31" wide, 31" high
Interior "playing" dimensions
33.5" long and 27.25" wide

The legs will be based on the front legs of the "Pencil Desk". The legs will be 2" square the first 6" from the top. The next section will have each corner routed with an ogee profile till the bottom section which will maintain the turned profile seen in the above drawing.
Jamie's Notes:

1. There is to be a beveled "lip" around the edge of the table top.
2. The removable board will have a finished back and an inlayed chess board on top.

Note: The removable top piece must be flush with the rest of the table top when we place it back on even if we have a jigsaw puzzle in progress. Tiny squares in the corners to address this, since the top shouldn't sit directly on the puzzle pieces themselves.

3. The 2 drawers and recessed puzzle area will be felt lined.

4. There will be 2 recessed pulls for pulling out the center section.
We found one on the same site we'd prefer, less intrusive.

We also assume it will sit at the drawer ends of the table and will lift with the rings coming up towards the center of the table top, for an easy lift off.On both I sent the link for the finish we liked "Antique-By-Hand".
4. And last, we both like the warm woods. Not walnuts but our preferences run to colors like cherry or mahogany.
We both also love bird's eye maple for the lighter board squares like you show on your Chess table in CustomMade!

1) On the same site where you pulled off the recessed pulls we found a drawer pull we really like.

We are not sure if 2.5" or 3" is best, we'll leave that up to you but either works for us.
The chess board top can be removed revealing a covered playing area for puzzles.
The drawers and puzzle area will be felt lined.
