I have re-distressed the base. I recoated the base with the enamel, then did a slighter distressing. The Hickory top now has a coat of polyurethane. Most of these pictures were taken with two incandescent lights shining on the table. This gives the top a warm glow.
Let me know if this reduced distressing is a good look. I can then proceed to apply the poly top coat to the entire piece.
