I began the finish protocol by gilding the carved and turned elements of choice. I applied a Red Mahogany Stain to the carcase and legs, not the top. I let the stain sit for a (bit-20 minutes?) then wiped it off.
The top coat is Sealcoat -dewaxed shellac and then a wipe-on gloss poly.
