The "U" is made of three layers of 3/8" bendable plywood. I laminated the layers in two sessions. Here is the first and second layers glued around the form.
I used clamps and screws in the form. When I removed the screws I filled the holes before laminating the 3rd layer.
After the third layer is glued, I cut and glued a maple edge banding around the plywood edges.
The profile is traced onto Maple scraps.
Oversized pieces get cut on the bandsaw then glued to the "U"
A pattern cutting bit on the routed trims the edgebanding flush to the "U"
Moving on to the "Circle", the lower part of the circle is clamped up in it's form. I am using 1/4 inch "Kerfed MDF" for the circle.
